Asylum

Asylum

One of the things we hold most dearly is the belief that we all have an inalienable right to express our political opinions, practice our religions, and take pride in our social and ethnic backgrounds without  fear of repercussion from the government. However, not all governments hold these to be inalienable rights, and not all governments are able to protect persons facing a fear of persecution and retaliation  because of their race, religion, political opinion, ethnicity, or membership in a particular social group. As an immigration lawyer, we have the responsibility to make sure these individuals obtain asylum

If an individual has fled their home country due to past persecution or fear of future persecution due to  their race, religion, nationality, political beliefs, or membership in a particular social group, they may apply for asylum.  Applicants must apply for asylum within one year of entering the United States, or  show that an extreme or significantly changed circumstance caused them to apply after more than one year. Applicants must also show that they could not have reasonably relocated to another part of their  home country in order to avoid persecution.

Once a person applies for asylum, they can be granted Lawful Permanent Resident status, or a green card. They can also apply for work authorization in the United States, and the ability to travel outside  the United States to countries other than the country from which they fled. Once a green card is obtained, asylum applicants can petition for their family members to obtain permanent resident status  as well.

We have successfully helped obtain asylum for so many people in need. Our immigration lawyer and attorney specializes in asylum applications. Please give us a call if you are in need of assistance.

What to Expect

Tell us your story, and let us handle the law. Here's what you can expect when you work with our lawyer on an immigration asylum case:

1. Let's Talk

We’ll set you up with a 30-minute in-person or virtual meeting with our immigration asylum lawyer via Zoom, video conference, Skype or phone to get to know your unique situation, understand your needs, and begin to map out a legal strategy.

2. Let's Get You Setup

The second step of our process lasts 3-5 days, during which we handle all necessary administrative details to set up your case. You will put down your initial deposit, sign a fee agreement, complete a questionnaire and meet with us to dive deeper.

3. Let's Win

For the next 3-4 weeks, we will work together, side-by-side, to prepare your case and set you up for success. After we have prepared your case, we will share it with you for review.
